On the night of June 15 2024, a dutch ship collided a singaporian oil tanker in the vicinity of Pasir Panjang, one of the ship terminals in Singapore. I happened to be at Pasir Panjang the morning after the incident, waiting for my ferry to bring me to the southern islands of Singapore. At this time, I had no clue that an oil spill had occurred in the Singapore’s straits, it was only after a discussion with a local fisherman that I got aware of the situation. Here are some pictures I have taken on my way to Saint John and Saint Lazarus islands.

Picture taken on Kusu Island, on a usually highly frequented turquoise beach.

On the Ferry that lead me from Marina South Pier terminal to Saint John island. All ships were stuck outside the terminal waiting for orders from the maritime authority of Singapore.

View from a usually idyllic beach on Saint John island.

On the other side of the bay, the pier of Saint John island.
